Ekaterina Potego – opera singer – concert singer

Ekaterina Potego has been educated a lyrical soprano at first under the leadership of the highly awarded singer Zara Dulkhanova  at the opera school of the Gnessin Musical Academy in Moscow. Thereafter she attended the Music College Ippolitova-Iwanowa under opera singer Lydmila Slepneva. Her education was completed in Ekaterina’s adoptive country Austria at the Vienna Conservatory having worked with Prof. Julia Cornwell which she finalized with great honors. Famous singer like Christa Ludwig and Alfred Burgstaller were among her teachers.

She performed at the Chamber Opera Vienna in “Gianni Schicchi”, the opera “Cosi fan tutii” from W. A.Mozart and in the operetta “Die Fledermaus” from Johann Strauss II.  She was employed at the Vienna State Opera and her roles at the Opera Festval in St. Margarethen included Pamina and the First Lady from Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”. In addition she has been a soloist performing at international concert venues. For instance, she was  recently invited by His Highness, King, the Maharadja Gay Sing of Jodhpur, Rajashtan, India to perform at the renowned residence of the Maharadja, Fort Mehrangarh.

Ekaterina Potego is initiator and artist director of a multimedia opera show, called  “Music along the Silk Road” (Silkroad).
